What are invisible aligners?
Invisible aligners are clear, removable trays custom-made to gently move your teeth into alignment. They’re nearly invisible, comfortable, and designed to give you the smile you’ve always wanted — without metal braces.
How do your invisible aligners work?
Our aligners use gentle, consistent pressure to gradually straighten your teeth. You’ll wear each set for about two weeks before switching to the next one. Every treatment plan is personalized by a licensed dentist or orthodontist who monitors your progress from start to finish.
How do I properly use and care for my invisible aligners?
For the best results, wear your aligners for 22 hours per day if you’re using daytime aligners, or 10 continuous hours overnight if you’re using nighttime aligners.
Remove them only for eating, drinking (anything other than water), and brushing your teeth.
To keep them clean and clear, gently brush them with a soft toothbrush and mild soap daily — avoid hot water, as it can warp the plastic.
How much do invisible aligners cost?
NewSmile aligners start at $1,799, and we offer monthly payment plans starting at 0% interest to make your new smile more affordable.
All aligners are licensed by Health Canada, meeting the highest standards of quality and safety.
Are your aligners BPA and latex free?
Yes! All NewSmile aligners are BPA-free, phthalate-free, and latex-free, ensuring they’re safe for long-term daily wear.
They’re also licensed by Health Canada, so you can feel confident about their safety and materials.
Can I use health insurance to cover the cost?
Yes, many dental insurance plans that include orthodontic coverage will reimburse a portion of your aligner treatment.
After purchase, we’ll provide you with all necessary documentation to submit to your insurance provider.
Does the process hurt?
Some mild pressure or tightness is normal for the first few days of each new aligner set — that’s how you know it’s working! The feeling typically fades as your teeth adjust.
Will I have a lisp with my aligners?
You may notice a slight lisp for the first couple of days, but most people adjust quickly as their tongue gets used to the aligners’ shape.
I have a permanent retainer, do I need to remove it?
Yes, in most cases, permanent retainers need to be removed before starting aligner treatment.
We recommend checking with your dentist or orthodontist to confirm before getting started.
Can I get aligners if I have a missing tooth?
Yes, you may still be eligible for aligners! Our dental team will review your impressions to determine whether aligners can close the gap or prepare your teeth for a future implant.
Can I get these if I have an implanted tooth?
Yes — aligners can still help move the surrounding teeth. The implanted tooth itself won’t move since it’s fixed in the bone.
How long do I have to wear the aligners?
Most treatments last 4–6 months, depending on your specific case. You’ll wear each aligner set for about two weeks before switching to the next one.
What if I lose an aligner/retainer?
If you lose one, contact us right away. We’ll help replace it so your treatment stays on track. Replacement fees apply, but we’ll make it quick and simple.
How much does a retainer cost after?
Replacement retainers cost $199 per set (upper and lower), or you can save by subscribing for automatic replacements.
We recommend replacing retainers every 6 months, since they’re made from thin, medical-grade plastic that can stretch over time.
Old retainers can cause orthodontic relapse— when teeth slowly shift back out of alignment.
Can I order replacement or backup retainers?
Yes! You can order replacements anytime through your NewSmile.
Do you offer teeth whitening?
Yes — NewSmile offersprofessional-grade whitening foamthat’speroxide-freeandsafe for sensitive teeth.
It brightens your smile effectively without causing increased sensitivity, and it can be used during or after your aligner treatment.
Can I get these if I have wisdom teeth?
Yes, in most cases wisdom teeth won’t interfere with your treatment. Our licensed dental team will review your impressions to make sure aligners are right for you.
What is an Impression Kit?
Our Impression Kit lets you make accurate molds of your teeth from home. It includes impression trays, dental putty, a cheek stretcher, and a prepaid return label.
Once we receive your impressions, our dental team designs your custom treatment plan.
What is a Treatment Preview?
Your Treatment Preview is a 3D digital model showing how your teeth will move throughout treatment — and what your new smile will look like at the end! You’ll receive your preview before production begins, so you can review and approve your plan.
